President Obama has fought the right wars unlike Bush 43.

President Obama’s original position on Iraq, as a Presidential candidate, encompassed compassion for US soldiers and innocent Iraqis, and realized that our assets couldn’t be squandered in a country that had nothing to do with 9/11. President Obama, as a Presidential candidate, wanted to continue the attack on Afghanistan because that was the location of the 9/11 madmen. President Obama got bin laden not Bush 43 who made the cowboy stand of getting him dead or alive.

Now President Obama is stuck in Bush 43’s Middle East quagmire, the dream that the PNAC zealots prayed for. Unlike enforcing an US hegemony over the world--the GOP prayer, President Obama has prayed for our soldiers and innocent Iraqis.

The article “Barack Obama and what he said on the Iraq war” states “President Barack Obama was an early opponent of the Iraq war…Ending the Iraq war fulfils a promise that helped Obama win the presidency in 2008 and allows the White House to focus more on Afghanistan as well as economic worries at home, where the high jobless rate is a major concern for voters.”

The article has this October 2002 quote “ Obama, then a state senator from Illinois, delivers a speech in Chicago against the Iraq war. "I don't oppose all wars. What I am opposed to is a dumb war."

Yes, it was a dumb war and it was a preemptive war which the UN bans.

In this July 2007 candidate Obama essay the article states “In an essay published in Foreign Affairs magazine, Obama calls the Iraq invasion a war "that never should have been authorised and never should have been waged." He calls for a phased withdrawal of US forces "with the goal of removing all combat brigades from Iraq by March 31, 2008."

The article reminds us that President Obama is not responsible for our troop withdrawal as the article states “November 2008 – The United States and Iraq complete a Status of Forces agreement that requires US troops to be withdrawn from Iraq by the end of 2011.”

President Obama was wary of the ramifications of a radical Shiite despotas the article “In U.S. Exit From Iraq, Failed Efforts and Challenges” illustrates.

The article states “The request was an unusual one, and President Obama himself made the confidential phone call to Jalal Talabani, the Iraqi president.

The article reminds us of the grim costs of this war “The war killed 4,500 US troops and at least 60,000 Iraqis. Mr Obama said on Tuesday the war would cost more than $1 trillion all told.”

The article “Obama's Afghan Position 2007-2008: A Reminder” in thisJuly 15, 2007 quotes the states “Sen. Barack Obama will propose deploying two additional U.S brigades to Afghanistan in a speech Wednesday mapping out his approach to combating terrorism, an adviser said.

Hillary Rodham Clinton over how to handle leaders of hostile states, Obama will "talk forthrightly" about the need to take action across the border in Pakistan if United States intelligence officials believe they have actionable intelligence about terrorist activity.”

Regarding August 01, 2007candidate Obama remarks the article states “We did not finish the job against al Qaeda in Afghanistan. We did not develop new capabilities to defeat a new enemy, or launch a comprehensive strategy to dry up the terrorists' base of support. We did not reaffirm our basic values, or secure our homeland.

It is time to turn the page. When I am President, we will wage the war that has to be won, with a comprehensive strategy with five elements: getting out of Iraq and on to the right battlefield in Afghanistan and Pakistan; developing the capabilities and partnerships we need to take out the terrorists and the world's most deadly weapons; engaging the world to dry up support for terror and extremism; restoring our values; and securing a more resilient homeland.

The first step must be getting off the wrong battlefield in Iraq, and taking the fight to the terrorists in Afghanistan and Pakistan.”

Candidate Obama said “They are plotting to kill Americans right now. As Secretary Gates, the defense secretary, said, the war against terrorism began in that region and that's where it will end. So part of the reason I think it's so important for us to end the war in Iraq is to be able to get more troops into Afghanistan, put more pressure on the Afghan government to do what it needs to do, eliminate some of the drug trafficking that's funding terrorism.

And if we have Osama bin Laden in our sights and the Pakistani government is unable or unwilling to take them out, then I think that we have to act and we will take them out. We will kill bin Laden; we will crush Al Qaida. That has to be our biggest national security priority.”

They got Bush 43’s spokesperson, Dick Cheney, to attack.

How would our national security status look if it weren’t for these blunders?

The US mainstream media allowed a GOP propagandist to lie again as Cheney is quoted as saying "The scope of the problem, in part, is based upon an unwillingness by the president to recognize we have a problem."

Iraq was given star billing as Control Central for their Mid-East base of operations.”

President Obama tried to get the right Iraqi as president, but couldn’t remove the despot Bush 43 picked who enraged the Sunnis and caused ISIS to form. Candidate Obama was correct and has been consistent in that he wasn’t against all wars and wanted to get bin laden and Al Qaida, who attacked us.
